MINE BACKFILL
Hyde Park
Hyde Park, Pennsylvania
Working with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Howard Concrete Pumping completed a mine subsidence mitigation project in a northeastern suburb of Pittsburgh. This project involved drilling approximately 280 injection holes around 70 homes. The holes were then backfilled with more than 39,000 cubic yard of flowable fill that was batched onsite using one of our 8 portable mixing plants. The project involved coordinating with local officials, residents and the state agency overseeing the work. The project was successfully completed ahead of schedule and the potential for subsidence in the community has been significantly reduced.
